As for the Lord, His way is perfect.”

My father, Joe Murray went home to be with his Savior Aug 20, at lunchtime.  Dad is worshipping God today better than he has in a long time.  In our last prayer letter I gave a request for my dad at the end—I asked you to pray that he would be able to eat and rest.  At the time of that writing, I was also going to add “free from pain,” but pulled back from including that, since it sounded too much like heaven.  Today, though, he is able to eat, able to rest and is free from pain.  Even more wonderful is the fact that He is also “glorifying God and enjoying Him forever” – (which is the chief end of man as he had taught me).

The grief of loss is on our side as we remember my dad–a godly man who loved his Savior, his family and his church.  Joshua 24:15 was a special verse to him, because the pastor was preaching at the time of his conversion.  Daddy lived it out too.  Shortly after he was saved he told me, “Leslie, now that I have become a believer, we’re going to do things differently around here.”  I was only five at the time, but I remember his voice, his words– even his tone.  It was his faithful testimony that eventually brought me to the Lord 3 years later.  We do appreciate your prayers.  We know that God is good – ALL the time.

God, in his own special way has given me grace and has reminded me of his presence.  He understands our sorrow.  He never leaves us comfortless.  I am thankful that my dad is home with his Lord.  Even in the painful final days of his life, he smiled at the name of Jesus.  He is where he longed to go; with Whom he longed to be.  The memorial service and funeral were a glory to Christ and an honor to a man who humbly served his Lord.  Please continue to pray for my mom as she makes all of the necessary adjustments to her new life.
